Candle Care

Proper candle care will aid in the longevity of your candle and also provide a positive burning experience.

Here are a few tips of the trade:

* On the first burn, make sure you have enough time to let the entire top layer pool up with wax. It is said that soy wax has a memory, so if you only burn some of the top layer, the next time you burn it, it will only go to that point and stop. You will be loosing some burning time and won't be able to get that side candle wax to melt.

* Trim your wick to approx. 1/4" in between burns. This will help reduce any soot or smoke and help the wick not to have a "mushrooming" top. It will also help the longevity of your candle.

* Blowing out your candle by mouth could create some excess smoke (even though I do this, eek). You should use a snuffer to extinguish your candles between uses. If you do choose to blow out your flame, please be careful as I have seen someone blow out the flame too hard and cause hot wax to splatter everywhere. Use caution always.

*It is recommended to not burn your candles for more than 4 hours at a time.

*Always extinguish your candles before you leave the house. Don't leave a burning candle unattended, or near an open window with curtains and a swift breeze. Even though these candles are clean burning, you should not leave them too close to small children or pets as a safety precaution.

*Safe burning and smell away. I envy your discovery!
